It has been phenomenally successful in the United States and in 2006, it generated a turnover of over $65 billion. After a successful launch in Europe and after a sharp increase in the French market, it now accounts for 22% of the total gift market from private sales, that is, between 30 and 50 billion Euros a year. Advantages for the user: Ease of use for both buyer and recipient. Can be divided up over a length of time (a week, a month or a year). Pleasant to offer alone or with a suitable packaging (a matching envelope for example).
